This week we are introducing a new article as the “Come fly with me” article didn’t really take off (excuse the pun) while good in theory it struggled as most of us have similar sort of teams so were writing about the same players.

So let’s try a different tact.

So this one is to engage the community about how your team went on the weekend and any moves/trades you made, your thinking behind these moves and whether they paid off or made you pay.

Your chance to skite or to shrink into the background

    Team Score:

A disappointing 2,120 thanks to the abysmal trade below
    Dropped 800 spots overall
Won two league games out of 10 – most by 20-30 points thanks again to ol mate below.

    Round Snapshot
    What worked?
Serong as captain against a depleted tigers midfield
Wilson on deck instead of Darcy

    Anything that didn’t?
Yep worst trade of the year
    Xerri to Rowell!
    Xerri – 133
    Rowell – 65

Conclusion – Would have been so much better off leaving the team alone

    What were you thinking?
Xerri was always just a stepping stone to English, he had made $150k so about as much as he was going to make based on his scoring so far. (didn’t know he had a 130 in him)
Sweet is a high scoring rookie seemed a shame to not take his score in best 22 in the ruck.
Rowell avg 130 plus so far this year
Uptick of 20-30 points per round and also get Rowell before he goes above $700k like Gawn.
    Good in theory
Reality – worst trade of the year.

The only thing worse would have been to bring in Green and make him Capt like a few unlucky players did.

Definitely a “Shrink into the backgound”

So what were you thinking community – Let us know.

A real mixed bag for me and some if-onlys. 2230 score and 9/10 wins so OK and went up approx 3000+ spots in the rankings. Could have been better though if I had got my C right.
Made the rookie mistake of mucking up my VC loophole costing me Serong as C. Went to watch my Saints live and after the game I checked Gawns VC score at halftime only to realize the WC game had started with Livingstone as my loophole so was stuck with Gawn as C. Luckily for me he had a better second half and while not great was at least a 100+ C score.
Had Green and Rozee in my team but luckily enough had both Windsor and Wilson onfeild so they kind of cancelled those terrible scores out and also have Ryan which helped. Traded Marshall to English and kept Steele which also worked out and bought in Sweet and Garcia (WB) as cash gen so no upgrades as such. Chickened out on the bringing in May which would have worked out and also at one stage had Sweet as R2 and bringing in McKay and Stewart but when Sweet only scored a 72 went back to the plan of English. Must say Gawn and English as my ruck combination does look good. Going to use my last boost this week to bring in Jones and make 2 upgrades. Oliver is tempting at his price but may give him another week. Rookies still making cash and hoping Essendons Reid might come back soon to start some cash gen in that D8 spot. Has been handy as a loop though. Overall not a disaster this week but will have Green and Rozee missing this week so will test my mid bench strength. Good news for those playing me this week

Wow that certainly is a mixed bag Kat. Talk about riding the roller coaster 🎢

    Can’t go wrong with English.
    Good score for the round.

A lot of luck there Trig mostly bad . Bit of a merrygo round for me . Scored 2203 but gave 50 points away changing captains late . Gave wins to Kat and Russty so happy with that . Surprised to go down around 150 spots to about 650 odd . Three players who are my must haves OLIVER ( cheapest ever ) TOM STEWART ( best defender in the comp and @ 550 odd ) and Moore only because he is a forward My thoughts on the two KANGAS Comden and Powell have changed mainly because of Clarko ,OUT they go THey made around 100k so all is not lost and 1 more week for Powell I take a lot of notice from JOHN DJ 59 .s friend ABS MAGIC ,currently 108 who doesn’t like the lower tier premos insisting on the best Gawn English Bont Butters Heeney types ignoring the 100k cheaper versions ,but sometimes it comes off like DALE . SWEET might be a big money earner but it completely messed my loop up ,Is it worth it ? AT R1 it might be but doubtful at R 3 let’s hear your story

At the moment Neil, I am looking at trading in either Sinclair or Stewart in def and Moore in the forward line (or Oliver in the mids but think I will give Oliver one more week to show he has turned it around). I have my fingers crossed Green gets up. Don’t want to trade Rozee if I can help it, he was amazing to watch a few weeks ago but might depend on how long he is out.
I am happy to have Sweet in as a cash cow and a backup Ruck for the moment but yes, now having Livingstone in my forward line as my C loop is a little trickier to manage.
Good news for the Saints Russty having Hayes back. He really strengthened our forward line and was a great backup for Marshall in the ruck. He and Marshall actually look very alike and the scoreboard had them mucked up at one stage when Marshall was kicking for goal. Doppelgangers???? King needs to toughen up though, gets pushed around too much. Was great to see a Saints win live though, even if it was just against the Kangaroos. Finished a good weekend watching the Vixens win the netball live on Sunday

    Hi guys
Scored 2234, not too bad considering I had 4×50 something scores plus Green’s 5 onfield.
Trades made were Meek to Sweet, not exactly a roaring success and Sharp to Green! yay, 579k for 5 points haha. Just bad timing.
Got Wilson’s big score but left McKercher’s on the bench.
After having Daicos as VC all week decided to bet on Dawson as VC, fail, then instead of Bont or someone in that reliable vein, I decided a the last minute before the game to put the C on Walsh, bigger fail.
Bont, Serong, Ryan, English, Daicos, Martin, Flanders, Wilson all helped me get a score that was pretty decent in the end considering all my failings, have had a rough year so far and even moved up 10975 spots to 27571.
Better than the 90k I started at I guess but it’s been a long road trying to end up with some kind of serviceable rank…still a long way to go, the challenge from here is to have enough trades left to finish the season strong. 🙂
