Funny one this one the good ol flex
Nice idea as I think it was brought in for the Tom Green rule where he was injured early but everyone was stuck with his single digit score on ground.
The flex would eliminate this as it would replace his score.

Thats why I love this forum as my thoughts are completely opposite NDD.

As I think initially each round you have to play the flex as intended so if you cop an injury or a spud score on deck then your flex (if they score more) will replace that score. So I don’t think your flex can be the same player every week – gotta be flex with your flex.

Your flex can also be capt which is intriguing and could come into play late in the round.

Agree be handy for the byes.

As the flex replaces the lowest score in that position hopefully won’t need in the mids as this is where your premos sit and the best high scoring rookies.

Ruck if you have premo set up shouldn’t need it either

    On the other hand.

The two areas you are more likely to get a dud score (except if u cop an injury in the other possies) is fwd and def.

Ideal would be to have a DPP to cover both positions.

And guess who is a fwd/def DPP?

    Zac Williams!

If he kicks a couple of snags a game he is likeky to score 80+.

    If???

    Are you game?

is Zac injured Trig ? Personally I will have TDK starting FLEX with a view to keep him for 6 rounds Reason TRIG? let me tell you His opening run is unbelievable and he will rise significantly, possibly trade him to Gawn then Gawn is simply too expensive and I really prefer Bont at a similar figure. The option could also be to change TDK to the best high priced rookie that was simply squeezed out and missed such as Jagga in my case Good to be back mate NDD

Mate you gotta have Jagga will win the rising star this year.

Zac is primed already to go – fwd pocket/ flank be starting at.

Rookie tip- keep an eye on Moir. Likeky to get an early gig as blues love what he brings to the table brings a different mix.

    TDK is one excy flex!

One to watch if he gets a game is ROY GEORGE.been sensational .wouldn’t surprise to see a long term injury happen maybe the WA lad with crook lungs LANGFORD will give mick a run in the best first year player

Ahh Billings the annual pre season flyer. Think I’ve read this script before.

At the moment it’s a wait and see who actually starts rd 1. Been alot of injuries already and I’m not going with anyone without a full pre season behind them.

Say if you C Gawn and loop him to get say his 150 points. The emergency comes onto ground with the E on Gawn and then bang your Flex comes out and scores 170 points.

So do you get to keep Gawns C score or does the Flex over ride Gawns C score or takes the next lowest on ground score.. Thoughts

Port Adelaide vice-captain Zak Butters will miss the start of the 2025 AFL season with a knee injury.

Butters sustained a heavy knock to his knee, with scans showing bone bruising from the impact.

The 24-year-old will undergo a knee arthroscopy this week to inspect the joint surface and investigate the extent of the injury.

A timeline for Butters’ return will become clearer following the procedure.

Sydney Swans Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services, Damian Raper, said Mills will require a period of rest.

“Callum had been managing his plantar fasciitis well, however he required follow up imaging with the results last night revealing Callum has sustained a tear of the plantar fascia,” Raper said.

“After consultation with our medical team, we believe the best course of action is to spend two weeks in a boot, before reassessing Callum’s return to play program.

“Unfortunately, this means he will be unavailable to play prior to the club’s Round 3 bye.”

Hey guys, thinking Flynn might be a good Flex and moneymaker to boot, who are we all replacing Bont with, assuming you were starting Bont?

Starting Daicos Russty. Flynn maybe a good flex option as long he plays as # 1 ruck.

I think he will be mate, in regards to your earlier one about the Flex, it’s just a 23rd on field position mate and it replaces your lowest score each week, it doesn’t replace a score not on the field.

I didn’t have Bont (too costly) and already had Daicos so no change for me there but have lost a POD for my team. Was putting one of my top priced mids in the flex position but will probably trade out a Peatling type player and swap for FLynn in the flex position. After the weekends effort he looks like WC first ruckman and will make good $$$ if he stays fit. Frees up some money for me as well but not sure how I will spend it. Having trouble filling the D5 position, no real rookies to be confident with and no decent 200-300K defenders. Thinking maybe Sinn or Blight. They will at least get a game. Will be interesting to see what they do with the Brisbane game. If it is rescheduled and so Brisbane isn’t a bye team then some Brisbane players will become interesting. Boy Neale looked good on the weekend.
