YEP it’s here the last round and a quick round up of the good bad and ugly (had to get GATOR in somehow.

The Good Even though I went missing since the byes still a good year OA wise and Leagues thanks to Russty and his uncanny captains choices. Dale , a good choice has let me down in the last two weeks.English was also an average choice. There was 500 points left on the table through bad management I.e. leaving the Capt on Daics instead of the intended Gawn 140 points then the same the following week. Hugo Garcia instead of Rylie Garcia another 200 points .These are totally avoidable and I would now be about 1200 OA.

The Bad North players and a stubborn streak to hold them POWELL COMBEN were the main two The poor selection of English instead of X (not alone here ) Trades – ran out R22 so needed those extra picks will conserve early instead of double dipping like GRUNDY WHO was in and out .

The UGLY my rookie mistakes to leave 5oo points on board non selection of X ( not alone there ).Illness which can’t be helped though Russty did so well even got us to 4 grannies.

NEXT YEAR conserve trades a must do early on ,Happy with a winning format 4 premo def 3 ultra mid premo Gawn and X plus a HEENEY TYPE fwd.THe remaining 3 are value picks like DARCY plus one R / F dud

That’s my take ,what about yours NDD

Cant believe it is the last home and away round went so quick, I’m sure it felt like a lifetime for you NDD.

1 trade left rd 23 3 out. Mmmm donuts. Looked at it and thought who may/may not play rd 24. Landed on Shez just because they r out of finals race.

Tossed up between Ryan dale, McGovern landed on the new mid in Ed Richards as a bit of a pod. Lost 3 games but won 2 by less than 10 pts each. Thanks Ed. 🙏

    The Good
Getting this site up and going and getting some of the old JR crew back
Starting Heens, getting starting rookies right – instant cash injection.

    The Bad
Injuries during year leading to running out of trades and munching donuts in the finals.

    The Ugly.
Jordon “bloody” sweet – just left a sour taste in my mouth. When he plays he scores well but drooped for 3 games before port bye.

But wait the twist in the tail. Traded Xerri to Sweet and Sanders to Rowell..😬

Rowell mediocre since bringing in xerri #1 ruck.

    Lesson learnt.

Even if I had of saved trades doubt I would have had 4 at rd 23, as I say Lady luck she will play her part but don’t chase the car otherwise you will get tired and run out of legs.

nice bit of old JOCK REYNOLDS there Trig.Forgot about SWeet ,and of course getting this going has been great and getting JOCK’S CREW back for healthy banter, has been pivotal. We have a lot of hidden talent here so why not join the experience and improve. The Dees were thinking of McKay this time last year wonder if they will do it again ?

SC Grandfinal week and I am only in one major GF but fittingly it is in A Graders league vs Russty. Not feeling very confident as he has taken the chocolates every time bar one when we have played each other this season so not expecting too much. The SC gods have smiled on me though as Sexton has been picked this week and will be able to take the place of Houston instead of a donut. I have been fortunate this season with injuries but have been hit in finals with the English, Curnow, Warner, and Sheezel injuries, and then Houston this week. Thankfully some of those names are back GF week and I traded the right ones out. Looking back, I think one of my big mistakes this year was taking notice of all the noise of Marshall and Steele being injured and trading them out when they turned out to be very consistent and good scorers for the rest of the season. Marshall to English was not a winning trade. Also not having Zorko &/or Caldwell has hurt as well. My 2025 resolution will be not to trade too hard at the start of the season but I’m sure I won’t stick to this. Good luck to everyone in finals this week and I’m looking forward to talking to you all next year. Thanks to Neil and Trigg for their work on the site and good luck with getting it up and running again in 2025.

Funny how things pan out,at the start of the year Trig and me were discussing articles and I mentioned doing a discussion peace on who is the greatest player at each club and we binned it.The AFL now has that running on AFL.com.au. My thoughts were to start with the blues with John Nicholls Bruce Doull,Deisel Williams Alex Jesaulenko,SOSand Chris Judd all in my sights <I went Nicholls the AFL DOULL Hmmm.Ones I query are Barassi in front of Robbie Flower Pendles in front of Coventry The two ABLETTS close that one and. Royce Hart for Kevin Bartlett. Nice one AFL NDD

Trac for McKay is the rumour doing the rounds at the moment NDD.

Only way blues could afford Trac.
Not totally against the idea bit boy losing one of the twin towers who has also chopped out in the ruck. Big call.

    Cripps trac, Walsh fair midfield.

Well done Kat, and think you might just have the wood over me, it’s 5.30 here in W.A so some games to go, you do have one more player than me though as I have no cover for Sheezel, I noticed you have McNeil to back you up for Heeney out and he scored well last week, still might be close, good luck! 🙂

Heeney out gonna hurt alot of teams esp those in the running for the $50k.

Hi Russty, McNeil is actually my cover for the Curnow out so now have to have Dowling onfield for Heeney. I am lucky to have some cover but having to have Sexton, McNeil and now Dowling onfield is not ideal for good scoring. Stewarts 33 is also going to hurt. Im not feeling confident at all.

Don’t know what you are on TRIG but that was a joke eh TRAC for McKAY What would be fair would be McKay and a first rounder and even that wouldn’t get it done . Trac is a champion player McKay ok good to disagree considering we chased him already but Clarry is a different story considering they knocked back thilthorpe for Clarry.Oliver for McKAY sounds about a fair trade and Trac will cost extra maybe Curnow and we throw in Billings a former no. 3 . great deal there.

Gonna be close Neil, Walshy has started well for me flying out of the gates, need to get as far ahead of Kat’s Rozee score as possible!
How are you going in your Grand Finals Neil?

Yeah very close in A Graders. It’s virtually come down to Walsh vs Rozee. If I go down, 30-40 scores from McNeill and Stewart will have been costly but a great effort by Russty when he is one player down. I’m just going to watch the Saints vs Blues game and enjoy it. Hoping the Saints can get up to finish the season well and maybe become a club players want to move too.
